Daniel was a man of excellence. Even in a foreign land, serving under a pagan king, his integrity and wisdom set him apart. Because of this, he was promoted — and because of that, he was envied.

Jealous officials devised a plan to trap him. Knowing Daniel’s unwavering devotion to God, they convinced King Darius to sign a decree: for thirty days, no one could pray to any god or man except the king. The punishment? Being thrown into a den of lions.

Daniel heard about the decree. He understood the consequences. Yet he did not panic. He did not hide. He did not compromise.

He went home, opened his windows toward Jerusalem, and prayed — just as he had always done.

Faith was not occasional for Daniel; it was consistent.

He was arrested and thrown into the lions’ den. The king, distressed and unable to sleep, hoped for Daniel’s deliverance. At dawn, he rushed to the den and called out anxiously.

Daniel answered.

“My God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions.”

What was meant to destroy him became a testimony of God’s power.

Daniel’s story teaches us:

• Faithfulness may attract opposition.

• Integrity is tested in pressure.

• God honors those who refuse to compromise.

• Obedience may cost you comfort — but it invites divine protection.

The lions were real. The threat was real. But so was God’s power.
